Great Lakes Observing System (GLOS): Community Ice Thickness Data Collection

"GLOS is starting a community ice thickness data collection project to help regional Great Lakes ice models. The project kicked off on December 9th, when GLOS hosted a workshop at UW-Green Bay to share project details and gauge interest from the ice fishing community on sharing their ice thickness measurements.

International Joint Commission (IJC): Understanding Microplastics in the Great Lakes

"Microplastics are present in all five of the Great Lakes, but there is no coordinated, basinwide effort to monitor and report on the status of plastic pollution. In a new report, the International Joint Commission (IJC)’s Great Lakes Science Advisory Board proposes regional coordination to systematically measure Great Lakes microplastics.
