Brief description:
- The Great Lakes Fishery Commission (GLFC) Travel Award promotes academic excellence by encouraging students to present their graduate research results at scientific conferences. The Travel Award is awarded annually to M.Sc. or Ph.D. students whose research is likely to make a significant contribution to understanding Great Lakes aquatic ecology and fishery science. Awards are available for in-person participation for either oral or poster presentations.
- Two (2) travel awards will be awarded this year. Typically, awards are for up to U.S. $1,500.
- Full-time M.Sc. or Ph.D. students presenting in-person (poster or oral) at a conference, whose research is relevant to the Great Lakes, and who have not previously received this award.

- The IAGLR Student Travel Award is designed to promote student member attendance at the annual conference by subsidizing a portion of the costs of travel to and from the meeting. Student participation at the IAGLR conference is integral to the atmosphere of the meeting as well as to students' education.
- IAGLR Travel Award funds are limited and are available on a first-come, first-served basis. The amount awarded to individual students will vary, and are contingent on distance traveled and funds available. Awards range between 25% and 100% of registration costs.
- Open to current IAGLR student members registered for in-person conference attendance.
- Please note preference is given to those presenting a paper or poster.

- The IPBES fellowship programme provides an opportunity for outstanding early-career individuals from all backgrounds and disciplines working on biodiversity and ecosystem services to fully participate in IPBES assessments.

- IPBES is seeking early-career fellows with expertise in Indigenous and local knowledge, particularly those engaged in regional and global analyses of nature and its contributions to people. The fellowship offers an opportunity to gain experience in biodiversity and ecosystem assessments, with no strict age or academic degree limitations for Indigenous and local knowledge fellows. - Applicants must be put forward by a government or an organization rather than applying independently.

- Contact your organisation and/or the IPBES national focal point in your country to express your interest in becoming a fellow in the IPBES fellowship programme and ask them to be your nominator.
- Fill out the application form and attach your curriculum vitae through the dedicated web portal (you need to have/create an user account on the IPBES website).
