IPBES Accepting Applications for the IPBES fellowship programme
Online information meeting: March 12, 2025
Application deadline: March 28, 2025
Nomination deadline: April 6, 2025

Brief description:
  • The IPBES fellowship programme provides an opportunity for outstanding early-career individuals from all backgrounds and disciplines working on biodiversity and ecosystem services to fully participate in IPBES assessments.
  • Read more about the fellowship programme here, including the benefits of being an IPBES fellow, as well as the selection process and criteria.
Eligibility:
  • IPBES is seeking early-career fellows with expertise in Indigenous and local knowledge, particularly those engaged in regional and global analyses of nature and its contributions to people. The fellowship offers an opportunity to gain experience in biodiversity and ecosystem assessments, with no strict age or academic degree limitations for Indigenous and local knowledge fellows. Read more about eligibility criteria here.
  • Applicants must be put forward by a government or an organization rather than applying independently.
How to apply:
  • Contact your organisation and/or the IPBES national focal point in your country to express your interest in becoming a fellow in the IPBES fellowship programme and ask them to be your nominator.
  • Fill out the application form and attach your curriculum vitae through the dedicated web portal (you need to have/create an user account on the IPBES website).
